ClassicCarGift -who we are and what we do.

We have a passion for classic cars. The smell of wax, oil and exhaust fumes, the sound of the engines, the lines and curves…classic cars make our heart beat faster. Some state that it’s an obsession or that we need compensation for our egos. Well, as long as we can’t infect them with the classic car virus they will not get it.

In 2010 Eelco drove each month to a large USA car show in Muiden (The Netherlands) to show off with his fully restored deep black 1970 Buick Riviera with the amazing 455 cubic inches big block engine pumping out a whopping 370 BHP. In the trunk a load of canvas prints made from car images he found and bought on the internet. The profits just paid for the cola and hotdogs but he had a lot of fun.

At that same time Marcel was looking into starting a new internet business and reviewed several possibilities. His new business had to be something where he and his customers would share a passion. Well one and one is two and ClassicCarGift was started.

In the meantime Eelco sold his Buick and bought a first owner 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis with the 460 big block engine. When you get to know Eelco you will learn that he is a perfectionist. Everything on his classic car needs to be in mint condition. You won’t find any sign of rust, dents or imperfect parts anywhere on his car, he even bought a knitted toilet-roll-holder (popular in the early 70’s) to match his car. Well he is just as critical to our business. When we started ordering test prints we were disappointed on the quality, the colors did not justify the original artworks. So we stopped for a while to first find a reproduction technique that does capture the passion of an artwork. In our product info section you can read all about the process.

We decided that we will not sell regular prints or posters but only reproductions that have the potential of becoming a collector’s item. That means that above all each reproduction reflects the passion which triggered the artist to create the original artwork.

We are proud that we can offer now originals and museum quality reproductions that keep their value and even might become collectors’ items. Only works are selected that we would like to display in our own homes, living rooms, offices and garages.
